This will be my first major show since a year ago in

our own gallery in Friday Harbor.

An impression of the point at the Shaw Island ferry landing.

The last couple of days I’ve been painting on Whidbey Island for this Plein Air Open.  I came across this beautiful scene on a road near Deception Pass. At first glance there was a shadowed and sun laden road that caught my eye, then  I noticed, after my eyes had adjusted to the incredibly bright light that shows itself only during August here in Western Washington, a woman walking her dog down the harmonies of  lights and darks. What a peaceful moment for the owner and her friend.

A reception through the Pacific Northwest Art Center will be held featuring 20 artists of the Northwest and their paintings done up and down Whidbey Island this Saturday.  Contact the school for moor information. I'd love to see you there.
